John Ward sketched and submitted three ideas for the Kentucky State quarter design project. Two of this sketches were selected by public vote to move forward in the process - a thoroughbred running with jockey on board and My Old Kentucky Home. A total of seven finalists were selected to advance to the U.S. Mint, two of which were John's images. Design decisions must be made by Jan. 28, 2000, and Kentucky's quarter should be put into circulation October 2011.
